Serving the Greater Los Angeles County Area including La Verne, Claremont, Glendora, San Dimas, CA
Athletes are people who are dedicated to fitness for one of any number of reasons. Part of this dedication means you’re required to do a bit extra for your body. The result is that athletes are often not only very physically fit, but also very healthy people most of the time.
We at Recovery Lab of La Verne want you to be healthy enough to pursue whatever goals you have in life. So, for athletes, this means giving you the tools and care you need for your body.

- Who Qualifies As An Athlete?
Athletes are usually thought of as the pinnacle of physical fitness, which is why you might not consider yourself to be one, even if you work out regularly. But what, exactly, is an athlete?
Well, if you look up the word, the most likely definition you’ll find is something like:
“A person who is proficient in sports and other forms of physical exercise.”
What we’d like to point out here is that this doesn’t mention competing at all! You don’t have to be entering or winning competitions to be an athlete; you just need to be proficient at some type of physical exercise.
This means anyone can truly be an athlete if they work for it, which we at Recovery Lab want to help you do.
- The Special Needs We Know Athletes Have
We all know athletes, especially ones in high levels of competition, are tough on their bodies, pushing these to their breaking points. Unfortunately, this sometimes means accidentally pushing a little too far and getting hurt.
This is why athletes will put a lot of effort into avoiding getting hurt in the first place. This means warmup routines, not overtaxing themselves, and keeping the proper forms when exercising.
Aside from avoiding injuries, athletes must take care of their overall health, which means more than eating healthy and staying hydrated. Any illness, even a mild one, prevents them from being at their best and can set them behind schedule when they’re training to meet a certain goal.
When athletes do get injured, they know it is important to heal quickly and with as little scarring or decreased range as possible. This is both so they can get back out there sooner, and so they aren’t as affected long-term by being hurt.
- How We At Recovery Lab Help Athletes
We have many services able to help you as an athlete. Here are a few of them:
Mobility Stretching: Our assisted mobility stretching is perfect for increasing mobility and range of motion as well as preventing injuries from happening.
Red Light Therapy: This hugely helps your overall health by stimulating your cells. It also helps you get more light so you don’t suffer from SAD as much, which we know can make it harder to find the motivation to work out when the days are shorter.
Cryotherapy: This one also helps your overall health as it essentially shocks your body into action! It also reduces swelling and soreness, both of which we are aware athletes deal with a lot.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: If you get injured, this therapy’s ability to oxygenate your blood will help you heal better and faster.
