Anxiety

Serving the Greater San Bernardino County Area including Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Fontana, Upland, CA

Anxiety is often confused with other mental issues, and even just being stressed. Also, momentary anxiousness is normal, especially leading up to important interviews, when waiting for test results, and other significant occasions.

However, none of the above is actually anxiety. Anxiety is when you feel fear about worst-case scenarios, even when there isn’t any reason for it.

At Recovery Lab of Rancho Cucamonga, we want to help you conquer your anxiety so you can live your most fulfilling life without these fears.

Anxiety

  • What Exactly Causes Anxiety?

Anxiety is caused by things like genetics, excessive or long-term stress, trauma, medical conditions like heart disease, and certain medications, just to name a few.

We also know it’s more likely to affect you if you’re naturally critical of yourself or struggle to deal with criticism from those you interact with.

Things like alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine do provide temporary relief for some people, but we and your doctors advise against those as they have been proven to make anxiety worse in the long run.

  • Can Exercise Help With Anxiety?

Exercise can help somewhat, at least in the area of helping it not get worse. We know how easy it is for you to isolate yourself if you have social anxiety, and this only encourages you to get stuck in your anxiety when you’re around people.

Therefore, whether you’re anxious about being around other people or about getting hurt by trying new things, we’re confident something simple like exercising is a great way to work on overcoming your fears!

Also, a quick reminder: exercising will help improve your heart health, which is hugely beneficial if your anxiety is caused by a heart condition. Exercising will also cause you to have more endorphins, which is obviously something you want.

  • How Can Recovery Lab Help My Anxiety?

Depending on what’s causing your anxiety, many of our services are able to help. Our percussion therapy is perfect for a little de-stressing, for example.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy will get more oxygen to your brain, helping it work better, which will help with anxiety. It also reduces some of the stress your body feels by lightening the load a little.

Meanwhile, our cryotherapy and red light therapy will help your overall health, which is particularly beneficial if it’s a health condition causing your anxiety.

A few of these services are actually being studied for the ways they aid mental health, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy and cryotherapy, so who knows what unknown ways they aid in lowering anxiety levels?

  • What Are Other Things To Help Anxiety?

To start, you should avoid caffeine and the other things we mentioned that make anxiety worse. On the whole, many of the same things capable of lowering stress are also good ideas for anxiety, such as a relaxing hobby, good sleep patterns, and a healthy diet.

If your anxiety is bad enough to interfere with your life, you should always go to your doctor for help.
