Serving the Greater San Bernardino County Area including Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Fontana, Upland, CA

While most people don’t consider themselves athletes, many do wish they were as fit as one, and at Recovery Lab of Rancho Cucamonga, we know how beneficial it is to emulate them in some ways in an effort to be healthier.

But what exactly qualifies someone as an athlete? And what sorts of things do athletes need to consider that other people don’t? Find out those things and what we can do to help by reading below.

Athletes

  • What Is An Athlete?

Most dictionaries have the definition of the term athlete as: anyone who is proficient in sports or other forms of physical exercise.

One of the keywords here is ‘proficient’ in something. At Recovery Lab, we like to highlight this word. You don’t have to be an expert or win competitions or be an athlete as your profession; you just have to be adept at some sort of workout.

This means anyone is capable of being an athlete! All it takes is some hard work and determination to stick with it, something which we at Recovery Lab would love to help you with if you’ll let us.

  • The Areas Athletes Need To Consider

Athletes, even casual ones, need to take extra care of their muscles. It’s your muscles, after all, literally doing all the heavy lifting and working hard as you work out. This care includes making sure you warm up and cool down before and after each workout routine you do, not overtaxing your muscles with more than they are capable of, and ensuring your form is right when you exercise so you don’t end up with muscle tears or strains.

Another consideration for athletes is hydration. Exercising almost always involves sweating, which is why you have to make sure you’re getting enough water.

Also, when they’re being used a lot, your muscles will need more nutrients, so your diet is extra important.

  • How Recovery Lab Helps

We’ve collected a lot of different services to help you, regardless of how devoted you are to being an athlete! Here are a few of our services as examples and why each is helpful for athletes:

Percussion Therapy: This is perfect for working knots out of muscles, removing and preventing stiffness, and overall being relaxing to them, all of which is great for athletes.

Norma Tec Recovery: Though odd to look at, this equipment gets blood from the bottom of your legs, where it tends to struggle to get to and from, and makes your legs feel much better after being on them for long periods of time, which is something most types of athletes regularly deal with.

Red Light Therapy: Red light is the perfect light wave to stimulate your cells and prevent SAD without being as likely as sunlight to give you skin cancer. For athletes, the stimulation of cells equates to everything in your body, including muscles, working more efficiently.

Besides those mentioned services we offer, another way Recovery Lab stands out is through our recovery specialists. These employees are part of our company family and are trained to have the knowledge to help you at whatever stage of your fitness journey you need assistance with.
