Fatigue
- What are the Causes of Fatigue?
Fatigue can be caused or triggered by one or any of the following:
- Poor sleep
- Excess stress
- Chronic inflammation
- Dehydration
- Nutritional deficiencies
- Disrupted circadian rhythm
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Hormone imbalances
- Underlying medical conditions
- What Lifestyle Changes are Recommended for Fatigue?
Fatigue can often be remediated through adequate, consistent sleep each night; proper nutrition; and staying hydrated. Managing stress and staying active are also crucial when it comes to reducing mental or physical fatigue.
For severe, chronic cases, it’s best to reach out to a medical professional to see if there’s an underlying medical reason for your fatigue.
- Can Wellness Services Help Reduce Fatigue?
Yes! We have several wellness services here at Recovery Lab known for helping minimize fatigue. Our services can be beneficial for both the mind and body, offering a comprehensive approach to battling fatigue.
We recommend the following services:
- Cryotherapy: Uses extremely cold air to improve blood circulation and stimulate mood-boosting endorphins, which can boost energy
- Red light therapy: Utilizes specific waves of light to energize cells, which can promote healing and generally enhance vitality
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy: Delivers a high concentration of oxygen to aid cells with energy production
- How Can Wellness Services Improve My Sleep?
Our wellness services are successful in improving sleep due to their ability to address the underlying physical and mental triggers of poor sleep.
Cryotherapy and red light therapy help calm an overactive nervous system and reduce stress hormones in the body. With less anxiety and stress, the body is able to get to sleep faster and experience fewer interruptions throughout the night.
Other services of ours – like percussion therapy, NormaTec compression therapy, and mobility stretching – help alleviate pain and tension, which can otherwise make it difficult to fall, and stay, asleep.
While fatigue isn’t always resolved with adequate rest, in many cases, lack of sleep, inconsistent sleep sessions, or interrupted sleep can play a role. Thus, wellness services capable of improving sleep may also be able to reduce fatigue.
- How Often Should I Get Wellness Services to Combat Fatigue?
Your ideal wellness service schedule will depend on the level and frequency of fatigue you struggle with. Your budget and availability should also be kept in mind.
If you need a short-term boost, we recommend going once or twice a week. For chronic cases, two to four sessions a week are suggested.
Sticking to a consistent wellness routine has the capacity to ensure sustained energy and support your overall quality of life.
