Percussion Therapy

- Why Should You Use Percussion Therapy?
- Improves the recovery of your muscles
- Relieves muscle fatigue, soreness, spasms, and stiffness
- Helps remove lactic acid (the main cause of muscle soreness)
- Breaks up scar tissue and works out painful knots
While those are the main benefits, and all you really need to know, there are plenty of other reasons you should use our percussion therapy, including the fact that it is just plain relaxing!
- What Is Percussion Therapy Like?
If your muscles are tight or have knots in them, these areas will ache as the tool works on them, just like it would if you use anything else to ease the tightness. However, as the ache passes, you’ll feel much more relaxed by the end of your session.
- What To Expect From Percussion Therapy
Though even just one percussion therapy can be quite effective, it is not a miracle. If your workout was particularly intense, you will still be a bit stiff the next day even if you have a session.
- When To Use Percussion Therapy
To avoid injuring your muscles, we know you really need to warm them up before your workout. This is particularly true if you’ve had a recent muscle strain or injury you’re worried about getting reinjured. In this case, percussion will warm up your muscles and loosen up the tight ones to prevent further injury.
Post-workout is when we know you’ll be the most likely to have knots and when stiffness will start creeping up on you. Here, percussion will remove the knots and prevent most of the stiffness, so you won’t feel like a board the next day.
- Where Is Percussion Therapy Used?
Where it isn’t used is the bony areas of your body like the front of your shins, as this would be painful because there isn’t anything really there to cushion your bone from the percussion tool.
