Sprains are a common injury involving a stretched or torn ligament. They can be caused by rolling your ankle or wrist incorrectly, wearing unsupportive shoes, engaging in physical activity, or tripping. Overuse or having weak muscles can also trigger the development of a sprain.

While mild sprains normally improve on their own with little to no assistance, there are situations where your sprained limb might need extra support. Participating in a wellness session can help reduce the pain, swelling, and loss of mobility associated with a sprain.

  • Can Your Services Prevent Future Sprains?

Yes, our wellness services may help prevent future injuries, including sprains. Not only do wellness services help you recover from problems you’re currently experiencing, but they can also improve your overall wellness to help your body handle future occurrences. 

Receiving regular wellness services can reduce muscle and joint tightness, help the muscles rebuild faster, and reduce chronic inflammation. As a result, this means better endurance during workouts, improved injury recovery, and stronger ligaments and muscles which will be less prone to injury from the start. 

  • Do I Need a Referral from a Doctor to Book a Session?

No, you aren’t required to have a referral from a doctor to try one of our wellness services. We encourage you to schedule a session with us at any time! Since we are a wellness facility and not a medical facility, our services are readily available and always accessible to the public. 

However, for moderate to severe sprains, we do recommend advising your doctor first just to be on the safe side. Your safety and well-being is our upmost priority. 

  • When is it Safe to Start Recovery Services After a Sprain?

The best time to book your recovery session after experiencing a sprain is to wait until the acute symptoms have decreased. A few days after you received your injury is most suitable. 

In the meantime, we recommend icing the affected area to provide relief of swelling and pain. We also encourage extra rest and elevating the affected limb to promote quicker healing. 

After some of the swelling and pain has gone down, you can turn to our wellness services for the reduction of lingering soreness, stiffness, and inflammation. 

  • How Soon Will I Notice Improvements?

After your first session or two, you may already notice some relief in your symptoms. However, everyone’s experience will vary. 

In general, most people have noticeable symptom improvement within the first week of receiving consistent wellness services. The more severe the sprain, the longer the recovery. For faster recovery, we recommend trying more than one wellness service.
