Sleep plays a crucial role in each of our lives, more than we’re aware. When we sleep each night, active recovery takes place. This is the time when our bodies engage in high-energy activities like tissue repair, emotional management, hormone regulation, and memory formation.

If you feel like you’re lacking in the sleep department, whether it be based on quality or quantity, Recovery Lab would be happy to help.

Sleep Wellness

  • What is Sleep Wellness?

Sleep wellness encompasses your sleep-related health, habits, and even your sleep environment.

It concerns your quantity of sleep, your quality of sleep, and how consistent your sleep schedule is overall. Regarding sleep wellness, not just how you fall asleep is important, but how you stay asleep matters, too, which can be impacted by your mental health, physical health, and environmental surroundings.

  • Who is a Good Candidate for Sleep Wellness Services?

Just about anyone dealing with sleep issues can benefit from sleep wellness services. If you struggle to fall asleep or stay asleep, then our services may be beneficial for you. Those who feel unrested or groggy, even after what appeared to be a good night’s sleep, should also take advantage of our sleep wellness solutions.

Sometimes, though, it’s not obvious if you’re experiencing problems with your sleep. Some signs of poor-quality sleep may include frequent fatigue, low mood, poor memory, and weak immunity.

  • How Quickly Will My Sleep Be Improved?

People may experience different timelines depending on their sleep-related issue and its severity. However, some of our clients notice greater ease of falling asleep after their first or second session with us.

As regular sessions continue over the next several weeks, they may notice other benefits, such as fewer wakeups in the night, deeper sleep, more consistent sleep patterns, and reduced fatigue and improved energy in the daytime.

  • Can Sleep Wellness Services Help with Stress-Related Sleep Problems?

Yes! If your sleep problems are primarily triggered by stress or anxiety, our wellness services can still help. Not only are many of our wellness services physically and, thus, mentally relaxing, but some of them can also have a direct impact on mood and stress relief.

For example, red light therapy not only has a positive effect on the body’s sleep-wake cycle, but it can help promote a calmer nervous system and boost chemicals in the brain responsible for mood.

  • How Often Should I Get Sleep Wellness Services?

If your sleep issues are recurring, long-term, or even chronic, we recommend engaging in sleep wellness services on a regular basis.

Those with poor quality of sleep should aim for one to two sessions a week. Once they notice some improvements in their sleep, they may decide to switch to one session a week. As sleep begins to stabilize, a session every two to four weeks is often suitable to help maintain benefits.

How often you may need to schedule a wellness appointment will depend on what sleep issues you’re dealing with, how severe they are, and how your body is reacting to receiving such services.
